Woodlarks means very much to me and my family; it has done for many years since I first visited it in 1982.
It represents companionship, trust and friendliness. A safe place and a break from the chaotic outside world. It is a place where we can all reassess our values and identify all the things that are really important to us.
It has been and continues to be very rewarding to help others enjoy themselves and discover talents that they thought they never had.
Over the years I have attended many camps in particular Pioneer II and attended many working parties over the years. I feel that we have a strong and vibrant community of like-minded and well-meaning people.
Our work continues as we approach our 100th anniversary in 2031. As a trustee I feel we need to maintain the values and traditions of the past as well as prepare for the future, which no doubt we have some uncertainties.
We all bring many skills and energy to Woodlarks. It is this energy and common sense of common purpose that holds our community together.
I look forward to the next few years as we prepare for our centenary and continue to carry out the purpose and values of Woodlarks.
Other than Woodlarks I have spent the last forty years raising a family and working in the high-tech industry within the UK and Europe. I used to know how a computer worked but sadly I only now know people that know how a computer works.
