My first experience of Woodlarks was as a venture Scout helping out at working parties to undertake an array of maintenance tasks during the closed season. As I trained to become a professional forester my skills were quickly applied to the trees and woodland which form part of the beautiful backdrop to camp.
Many years later, I still thoroughly enjoy being part of Woodlarks and volunteer on the Committee as Honorary Forester to help manage the woodland to ensure we have healthy and safe trees which also provide us with a sustainable supply of firewood.
My wife and daughters, along with many friends form the Shefford Working Party which meets for a weekend each spring and autumn as well as supporting events at other times of the year.
