Welcome to our new site. We’re trying to effect a few changes to the site, here’s our reasoning
- The site needed to be refreshed, it had run in its oldform for four years
- The old theme does not render well on phones and tablets
- Accessibility for visually impaired users was poor. This is my fault, I have a friend who has written a book on the topic!
- We have learned which pages attract visitors and which pages can be dumped
- The menu structure needed improvement
- The banner picture in the old theme displaces text off page
- People cannot find the search function
- The site was been hacked historically and is full of junk
- We need to integrate better with Martyn Allen’s excellent archive work
