Dave Gill

Trustee & Treasurer

Before retiring in 2021, Dave spent his entire career within the Police Service. He joined Dorset Police as a cadet, a police officer and then many police staff roles, including Deputy Force IT Manager and ultimately Projects Manager. During his service he achieved the qualification of Certified Prince2® Practitioner and graduated from the Open University with a BSc (Hons) degree in Information Technology and Computing.

At the time of his retirement, Dave held the post of Project Manager for the Dorset Police and Devon & Cornwall Police Strategic Alliance.

Dave’s first involvement with Woodlarks Camp Site was way back in 1978, when, as a Police Cadet, he attended his first camp as a volunteer.

In 2016, Trustees appointed Dave as Honorary Treasurer and in 2018 he was also appointed as a Trustee. He has implemented a cloud-based accountancy management system, Microsoft 365 and email addresses using the woodlarks.org.uk domain, facilitating migration to new electronic workflows and paperless processes, document storage and internal communications.

Dave still volunteers at Trust events and working parties. Although he spends a lot of time on Woodlarks, he is enjoying his retirement with travelling, reading, walking and cooking.
